Every Qkids teacher has their own story and unique reason for starting to work for us and we want to share them with you all so that they can inspire you too. Today teacher Crisonis tells us what Qkids means for her.
My name is Crisonis Marte and l live in Boston, MA with my fiancée, our two kids, and our pet cat. I'm pursuing a degree in Business Management online as well. I've always had a passion and joy for being around kids, and teaching with Qkids has allowed me to grow that love every day. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy doing arts and crafts with my children and playing outside. I speak Spanish and English myself so I've always had an appreciation for language studies and the importance of being bilingual. This is something I try to instill in my own kids as well so the fact that I can help other children learn a second language online is very rewarding for me.
There are plenty of people who have jobs outside of their home and also manage to teach for Qkids in their spare time but as a stay-at-home parent, I use Qkids as my main source of income. I'm a mother to a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old so having a flexible schedule is a MUST for me. With Qkids, you have the opportunity to teach very early in the morning and on some weeknights as well. Perfect for when my kids are fast asleep! I can set my own schedule and take time off as needed. The great staff at Qkids understand that life happens or sometimes you just have to take a break and they're always incredibly understanding of this.
If you’re like me, then you appreciate the beauty of teaching small children and bringing joy to them every day. This is perhaps the BEST part about Qkids for me. If you’re reading this and considering applying, don’t hesitate. I can promise you, it’s so worth it.
One of the top features of teaching for Qkids are the classes themselves. Don't worry, you don't have to write your own lesson plans or grade any tests. It's all set up for you and the fun part is that it’s game-based learning and so not only are the kids excited to "play" but you end up invested in the characters, games, and stories too! It's amazing.
At this point, I've taught almost 800 classes and I can honestly say no two classes have been the same, even though some challenging ones. I always walk away feeling like I've made a difference and that's something to be said about the Qkids company as a whole. Every day I meet amazing little humans halfway across the world who are eager to learn and who are incredibly endearing. Teaching them in the morning brings out a bright energy and passion in me that carries into the rest of my day, even with my own kids!
Perhaps you’re also like me in the sense that you’re always looking on the internet for ways to make money at home. I know this is important for many stay-at-home moms and dads as well so the fact that I can make money without having to leave my house, teach in my pajamas, AND have a blast every day is a major plus.

Preparing Your Teaching Background Hi Qkids teachers! Hope you are having a good week. Today Momo wants to share with you some helpful tips about how to set up your awesome teaching background. Many of you already have great props to attract students' attention; however, your teaching background is equally important since students see it for the entire class. A messy, unorganized background will not only distract students but also negatively impact your teacher rating. Your teaching style, outfit, lighting, and background all factor into your overall class rating. Below are some points you should pay attention to if you want to improve your teaching background: 1. The room lighting must be bright enough for students to see you clearly. You should try out different angles in your room and find the sweet spot . Do not point your camera toward the ceiling or light since it will be too bright for students to look at you. 2. The ideal class background
